Five of the best with JACK PANTHER

Having made waves in the alt pop scene with his 2020 EP this dream i had and new single SKI LIFT 001, Auckland queer pop artist Jack Panther is unveiling his new EP, why don’t you come over? He spoke to SENSE about five pieces of art you need to check out right now.

Starstruck

Watching this show sort of “shook me.” I loved it – it’s so grasping, and the performances are incredible. I’d recommend it to anyone in love, anyone going through a break up. It finds a way to hit you no matter what point you are in life. It makes me want to fall in love like a teenager again.

Remi Wolf – Juno

I loooove this album. I was in a 110-day lockdown at the time when this album came out and woah, I was so blown away by the production, the quirkiness, the writing. It sort of helped stop me from going into a bit of a darker place than I otherwise would have. I had a real childlike wonder for music again, it was awesome.

My Dad Wrote a Porno

It’s a podcast made by three friends basically just talking smack for 45 minutes at a time. It’s so hilarious I laugh while walking on the street or sitting on the bus. Take a listen, it's just super silly.

Patti Smith – Just Kids

When reading this book it opened up such a different perspective of life to me, it was incredible. Patti is not only an incredible storyteller but she’s also lived such an incredible life. I also learnt a lot about my own queer history and that inspired me a lot to create what is now my sophomore EP.

Euphoria

It took me SOOO long to watch this and oh my, hahaha. I can’t believe there was a time where I didn’t? It’s iconic, ahead of its time and so entertaining. Can’t wait for season 3 hahaha.
