The Biggest Ever GREEN DAY World Tour Coming to Australia in March

Global rock superstars GREEN DAY – Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool – have officially shared details of the Australian leg on their massive 2024/25 global stadium tour The Saviors Tour supported by AFI. In their biggest live undertaking to date, the band has confirmed they will play Dookie and American Idiot in full, along with tracks from the new album Saviors and cuts from their vast collection of hits.

GREEN DAY’s latest album Saviors landed at No. 2 on the ARIA Chart in January 2024, making it the band’s 12th top ten album in Australia over their unstoppable career. In 1994 they led the national charts with Dookie and again with American Idiot 10 years later, making a perfect set up for their current tour which will see both albums played in full. No doubt we’ll hear some choice cuts from their 2020 chart topper Father Of All Motherf—ers, along with too many beloved tracks from over 30 years of smash hits.
GREEN DAY last hit Australian shores in 2017 following the release of their 2016 album Revolution Radio. This means that The Saviors Tour will be their first visit in nearly a decade, although it’s not like they haven’t tried. In 2020, the Californian rockers were booked to play their Hella Mega Tour with FALL OUT BOY and WEEZER. Much to the disappointment of fans, the tour was cancelled due to the pandemic, making this year’s appearance a long awaited redemption of tragedy.
Late last year GREEN DAY was removed from Las Vegas radio stations after he was reported to have called the city that never sleeps “the worst shithole in America” while performing on stage. Australia is set to prove itself as anything but that in March. Following the Las Vegas controversy, another GREEN DAY performance in Detroit was temporarily paused when a drone was seen hovering within sight of the stage forcing the performers to be pulled off stage mid-song.
