FEAR FACTORY - Dino Cazares
The Soul of a New Machine
Written by: Tom Wilson - Sense Music Media
2021 is a weird time to be a FEAR FACTORY fan. We’ve had to watch one of the most influential and important metal bands of the last thirty years tear itself to shreds in front of the world media. Litigation. Lawsuits. Shock departures. The SENSE mantra is “Media Without Drama”, so you can read about that elsewhere if you wish.
God knows it was covered enough.
Here’s what you need to know. FEAR FACTORY in 2021 is founding guitarist Dino Cazares, bassist Tony Campos and drummer Mike Heller, and they’re about to release the kind of album that only comes along every couple of years. It’s the kind that makes the hair stand up on the back of your neck. Aggression Continuum is the best thing Dino Cazares has put his name to since 2010’s Mechanize. They’ve turned a controversial crowdfunding campaign into an epic production job that sounds like a million bucks. Once you hear it, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about. Also, wear a helmet, because these riffs are not messing around. Dino spoke to SENSE about FEAR FACTORY’s legacy with video games, working with Campos and Heller, and that time they caused rioting in Australia.
Aggression Continuum comes out on 18 June 2021
